The popup menu shown circled is used to select the printer that will be used to print the current drawing.

Printers are added using the Print Center application. This application is found in the Utilities folder of the Applications folder, or follow the Print Center link. You must use the Print Center to add a printer before it will show up in the page setup menu.

Use the Printer-Name popup menu (shown circled) to select the desired printer by name.

The selection of printer determines which paper sizes are available. This in turn specifies the Page Size. The operating system communicates with your printer and provides the paper sizes.

If a printer is not to be used for a project, it is important to select one of the virtual electronic printer selections found at the top of the printer popup menu selections. This will disconnect your drawing from any printer driver and macOS’s printing technology. This will provide full freedom to specify a page size without interference of margin and orientation restrictions.

If there is no printer available, a "Generic" selection will show on the menu. With this selection you can still prepare a drawing, select a paper size and do all the tasks necessary to properly define drawing page size and document size. From the print panel you may select to print to a file, or you may just export the drawing using the export menu found on the File main menu.

You may need a different page size that perhaps is not related to an actual printer or physical paper size. Perhaps you need a 468 x 60 point drawing size for a banner ad. There are two selections for virtual electronic publishing printers, Web Graphics, Buttons and Icons, and Prepress. When you select one of these printers there are a group of standard sizes available on the Paper size popup menu. You may also choose a custom size for your paper, then the size specifier text boxes will be enabled at the bottom of the panel.
